The top receiver on the open market is no longer up for grabs.

According to ESPN, the Jets have agreed to terms on a five-year contract with Santonio Holmes.

The deal is reportedly worth about $10 million annually, including $24 million in guarantees.

From the outset, Holmes was considered to be the Jets’ number one priority heading into free agency. The interest was mutual from the former Super Bowl MVP.

Despite a lucrative offer from the Redskins and interest from several other organizations, Holmes likely left a little money on the table to remain with a contender in the Big Apple.

Now that New York locked up its number one wideout for years to come, fellow free agent Braylon Edwards is expected to sign elsewhere. Meanwhile, the Jets have turned their attention to another free agent: Nnamdi Asomugha.

Gang Green’s biggest splash may be yet to come.
