Just because Jeff Fisher took the year off, enjoying his time away from football, doesn’t mean he’s still not a popular name churning around the rumor mill.
In fact, the former longtime Titans coach, should he choose to accept, will likely have his pick of vacant jobs this offseason.
A source “with knowledge of the situation” tells NFL Network’s Jason La Canfora that “at least” two teams have already contacted Fisher about becoming their next head coach.
Though La Canfora didn’t state who exactly reached out to Fisher, he mentioned the Cowboys, Giants, Chargers, and Rams as potential landing spots for the 53-year-old.
Fisher has front office connections to three of the four organizations, while San Diego would be his “hometown” option. The Dolphins, Chiefs, and Jaguars could also be in the market for a big-name coach to revive their dormant clubs.
With a possible 10 coaches currently on the hot seat, Fisher will be a highly sought-after commodity. It’ll ultimately come down to whether or not he feels he’s ready to roam the sidelines again.
